Of course, once we get the answer to that - that doesn't mean that's
necessarily all we archive - we can obviously decide that we will keep
more than is absolutely required. But when we do that, we do so with
the knowledge that we're doing it for our purposes, and so need to justify
that to ourselves, that the purpose is actually worthwhile, and the cost
(and I don't mean disk space costs...) is not too high.
