err, no thanks. no archives, thank you very much.

the existing system isn't perfect, but it works okay. there are lots of checks-and-balances to promote things like continuity, evolution, stability, innovation, candor, and privacy. all of these serve a common good.

do not go screwing with the something that works okay because of what a lawyer may do some day. fine-tuning is another matter, but so far none of the "improvements" i've seen suggested will make things work better. quite the reverse.
