i guess i disagree that the nomcoms are *increasingly* challenged.

the "cure" (of publically presenting a list) is far worse than the problem.

well, that's the problem, isn't it? trying to codify something for the nomcom. i don't think we can give them good guidance, so i'd prefer not to give them guidance and let them figure out what works best for them.
