Subject: "...what pays the IETF bills..."
From: "Scott Bradner" <sob@harvard.edu> "...what pays the IETF bills..." ? Doesn't your cyberspace leasing company (ARIN) help pay those bills ? http://www.arin.net/about_us/ab_org_bot.html Also, if you look at the 3+ million .ORG owners, each paying $6 per year, that is $18,000,000. At $250,000 per insider, that should fund 72 people to fly around all year. That probably beats having them sitting in an office watching the paint dry. At least they are recycling the money back into the airline and hotel industries. Latin American and the Caribbean have a lot of nice vacation spots. Will the I* society be focusing there next ? http://lacnic.net/en/transition.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Bradner" <sob@harvard.edu> To: <ietf-nomcom@lists.elistx.com>; <PRoberts@MEGISTO.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 8:27 AM Subject: Re: > > Registration is what is being checked to determine whether the > > volunteers are qualified. > > and what pays the IETF bills - people who are not concerned wnough > with the health of the organization to register might not be the > best bet when it comes to fulfilling the nomcom duties > > Scott > > ---------------------------------------------------------------- > To subscribe or unsubscribe from this elist use the subscription > manager: <http://lists.elistx.com/subscribe>
