That's what people said two years ago. Well, now I think we
have proof that the selection procedure *is* broken, and it's
only a matter of time until somebody decides to exploit it.

Excuse me, but that is not an IETF problem. Our industry was largely
built by US companies and that is a profound matter that we can't
influence. What we *can* influence is the defect in our own process
that potentially allows one company to swamp the NomCom for its
own advantage.

I agree with kre's proposed limit of two people from the same
employer. And I think, since we do trust each other as individuals,
it's easy enough: each volunteer has to state who their principal
employer is. And since we are pragmatists, we won't worry about
companies that are owned by other companies because that is too
hard to check.
