The technical issues shouldn't even be a matter of discussion, you shouldn't be allowed to wildcard things that DO NOT belong to you. And I think it boarders on pure comedy that you expect thousands+ of coders to change their code for YOU to make money under some pretense of wanting to help the internet community. As for the matter of "how much time you need?", we shouldn't want to define a time for something that should not be done to begin with, to do so would give credit to their attempts, for they will spin this as well citing something to the effect of, "we are now discussing this with the internet tech community and working on a time frame for which sitefinder could be introduced". This may let some people beleive that our only problem is the notice, let us not lose track, the point is, they do NOT own .net and .com, period. Also as mentioned before, the fact that Mark McLaughlin told so many bent truths (lies) about ICANN shutting down Sitefinder when in reality they only asked them to remove the WILDCARDS, makes one beleive that Verisign is up to no good, and that no good can come out of anything you guys do. You cannot expect us to trust you when your OWN VP lied, and we all know he did. AFAIC anything any verisign employee says should be taken with a grain of salt. Remember their jobs are at stake. Want to regain our trust? Drop this wildcard pipedream and start working on a browser plugin for it. Then they insult the nanog community? I for one don't care how much time you give us, I don't want it forced on me, I don't want to recompile hundreds of daemons to implement changes to code to work around/with your money train, are you willing to pay for companies costs to do all this? I'll wager not. We don't want it (wildcards NOT sitefinder). Is not the message clear enough? If not then it is clear that you only hear what you wish, which means this discussion is over before it even begins for you have allready made up your minds. I am going to purge myself, can Verisign be held liable for physical illness attributed to their practices? Hrmmm...gotta check that. Sorry if I offended anyone outside of Verisign. -- damaged
