In response to the specific question about whether we would give advance notice of re-launch, I said that we would but that it was not possible to say what the right about of time would be appropriate. As I recall, I asked the questioner how much notice he thought would be appropriate. My comments regarding proprietary information were in response to Steve Crocker's comments about the IETF process already providing a mechanism to obtain technical feedback. In cases where proprietary information is involved, a challenge will be to figure out ways that advance notice can be provided without compromising proprietary information including information that competitors would like to know.In the case of re-launch of Site Finder, I don't believe there would be any proprietary information involved. The details of Site Finder are already well know.Chuck Gomes VeriSign Com Net Registry > -----Original Message----- > From: Kee Hinckley [mailto:nazgul@somewhere.com] > Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 8:52 AM > To: Jeremy_Powell@sbcss.k12.ca.us > Cc: sitefinder-tech-discuss@lists.elistx.com> Subject: RE: [sitefinder-tech-discuss] Technical issues > encountered by a k12 site > > > At 9:04 PM -0700 10/7/03, Jeremy_Powell@sbcss.k12.ca.us wrote:> >4) Will Verisign give the Internet community valid > >notice of a future wildcard readdition?> > Actually, Verisign answered this question at the ICANN> meeting yesterday.> > >...
