My last post only the following three lines where from nanog the part under the
_dashes_ are MY own words, and did NOT come from nanog.

Their attack plan has changed, now that people have been threatening suits
towards sitefinder if the wildcards go through, they decided if they were to
sell off NS than the lawsuits would have no basis.

So you ask, "Why bother reviving sitefinder when they are going to be basically
selling off NS and the funds it would bring in via SF?

Simple, they decided that if they can get sitefinder back up, they can include
the promise of a semi-monopoly in the registry business or "sweeten the pot",
this would bring the worth of NS up if they were able to promise the generated
wildcards hits to PPE. And of course I'd be willing to bet that if the sale
goes through and the wildcards as well, that alot of the stockholders will
still be Verisigns own upper echelon.

So they manage to deflect away charges of wildcards being a monopoly move,
make a higher profit on the sale of NS, and still make money on the stocks
they own.
