We're a small ISP, about 1000 dial-up, but we received maybe 10 calls that
first day from people who were no longer going to the search engine they
chose. Some were puzzled, some embarrased thinking they had messed up the
setting, but all were irate when we explained this was due to a change
Verisign had made.

For us, that is a large number, given that many people don't  call until
they haven't been able to get their mail for 2 days.

This is NOT a change people wanted.
